Bookings preferred. As campers set up their tents on Stinson Park, some may recall the heroic actions of Bernard O'Reilly and other locals in 1937 when a small commercial passenger plane crashed in thick rainforest.  The campsite in Christmas Creek Rd was the base of operations for the rescue party, who trekked 10km through the bush to save two men, still alive 10 days after their Stinson airliner "City of Brisbane" disappeared on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney.    Ph: 07 5544 8008  Managed by Pet Rob Services

  • 4wd Driving: Duck Creek Road is one of the most scenic touring tracks located in close proximity to both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Due to its natural landscape and it entering the picturesque rainforest of Lamington National Park. The track is suitable for any off roader or 4wd camper. One of the most impressive aspects of the Duck Creek track is the view of the Gold Coast hinterland then driving through amazing rain forest tracks, stunning lookouts and picnic areas. Exploring day trip opportunities to O'Reilly resort, the Green Mountains section with Tree Top suspensions bridges and numerous graded walks. Untouched rainforest park criss-crossed with walking trails and home to rare animals and birds.

Lamington National Park—covering 20 590 ha—boasts extensive walking tracks along the McPherson Range allowing visitors to explore the area’s forests, creeks and waterfalls. Lookouts afford views over the Gold Coast, towards the western Scenic Rim and northern New South Wales. Lamington’s natural diversity can be discovered on the many walking tracks.
